We work through our local partners to provide for vital needs like nutritious food, firewood and heaters, warm clothing, and other items that help families to make their homes a warm, sanitary, and safe place for themselves and their children.
Providing Stable Nutritious Food
Food insecurity is a serious problem across Eastern Europe today. This problem is greatly heightened in Ukraine by the economic consequences of the war. However, there are families throughout Eastern Europe who are struggling with growing poverty as a result of the rising financial crisis and other complex social issues.
We must act swiftly to help children and their parents before it's too late. Children should not have to worry about whether they will eat today. We can work together to help families survive these difficult situations. We will save lives as we feed hungry families in Eastern Europe today.
Ensuring Families Stay Warm
Many families throughout Eastern Europe, particularly those in Ukraine struggle with growing poverty today. Large families, those displaced by war, people with disabilities, and seniors living on pensions cannot afford to heat their homes adequately.
High utility costs force people to make impossible choices between heat and food. No one should have to choose between staying warm and feeding their family. Children should feel warm and safe in their homes. We can work together to help families survive these difficult situations. We will save lives as we help families keep their homes warm today.
Creating a Safe Home Environment
When poverty levels are elevated families are forced to choose between basic survival and home hygiene and safety. Some families struggle with the costs associated with maintaining safe, healthy homes. We regularly encounter homes without refrigeration, with no clean running water, unsafe cooking equipment, and crumbling walls and broken windows.
We must act swiftly to help children and their parents before it's too late. Children should not have to live in homes without clean water, or with dangerous cooking implements. We can help families create safe home environments for their children by helping with minor home repairs and supplying proper cooking implements.
